Letters from Annette

It is amazing to me how often we need to be reminded of the basic principles of prayer. I don’t know about you, but if I don’t review the Word of God over and over on a regular basis then what I have heard tends to slip away.

Wisdom and love. What a combination! I discovered these in my own life when I was beginning to travel and teach the Word in my early twenties. I was influenced by a woman in ministry that I admired, and what stood out in her life were these two characteristics. 

In this world of spiritual darkness, you are the light that shines! I know sometimes it feels as if the darkness is so great that everyone will be engulfed in it, but this is not true. This is only a lie and a deception, because those born of the Spirit have the light of life and nothing can put that light out.

How do you combat fear? Do you try to fight it off? Do you just give in to it and hide As you know, neither of these is effective. Trying to fight fear in your mind only seems to magnify the fear, because what you are FOCUSED on is the FEAR.

You may wonder why I am placing such an emphasis on Psalm 91, divine protection, and the ministry of angels this year. The Holy Spirit began to impress me last fall to teach and instruct the body of Christ that we have safety in God in order to build our faith and confidence in His protection. 

“I was just kidding.” “I was only joking.” How many times have you heard that or said it yourself? What better way for satan to deceive people into speaking words they don’t mean than to disguise it in a joke, or laughing matter? The Holy Spirit recently pointed out to me that sarcasm, or using words in a joking, hostile manner carries not only “crooked speech,” but also looses an energy of hostility. 

I have a very special message for you this month that God has placed upon my heart. God cares about you so much that He often gives me specific messages to comfort and encourage your heart. There are teachings from the Word that we all benefit from, and then there are messages from the heart of the Father.

Is it possible to live in health in your body when your mind and emotions are tormented? Over the years I have observed that health in the body is relative to health in the mind and emotions. When something happens in life that wounds you, whether it is tragedy, loss, betrayal, or divorce, it may appear at first that the health of the body has not changed.

It’s the beginning of another year and I wanted to launch it with some good news! If you remember, I asked for your agreement regarding the addition of staff members to help with the increase at Capps Ministries. Above all, we prayed for people who are called and appointed by God to join us in His ministry, and He has done it!

Have you ever needed favor? Or have you ever needed someone to do you a favor? Well, I certainly have, and it was a real surprise to me when I discovered that the word favor and grace originates from the same word in the New Testament. They both come from the root word “charis” which is translated both grace and favor.

I know many of you are believing God and standing on His Word for healing, because I have received your letters asking for prayer. I want to encourage you today in your faith.

I recently ministered at Faith Builders Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Since I was born and raised in Arkansas, I looked forward to the trip, and at the same time braced myself spiritually because I was familiar with the ruling spirits over that geographic area.
