Letters from Annette

Many years ago, the Holy Spirit taught me a very important lesson that changed the direction of my life. You see, the enemy constantly lied to me about myself. I believed many of the negative things he said because it seemed what happened in my external world matched the lies he was telling me.

I have faced difficult circumstances in my life, and I know you have too. Perhaps even today, there are pressures upon your life, and you are feeling squeezed from every direction. It could be family problems, financial difficulties, or even concerns about your health.

My dad was known for his practical teaching and the down-to-earth stories that he told about fishing and talking to houses and land. In the greater scheme of things, these stories don’t seem particularly significant. But this is exactly how he broke free of the religious traditions, teachings, and doctrines of men.

April 2025      Are there difficult circumstances in your life that you are facing? Financial, medical, family, or even legal issues that seem like a mountain looming before you?    Fear and anxiety will only add to the mountain. And, if you speak those words of fear, it will make things worse. I assure you; I have done it myself before I learned to STOP speaking words contrary to God’s will.    What I do, when I see that mountain, is to turn my eyes to the Word of God. God’s will is for us to live in victory over every financial, medical, or relationship mountain. So I look to Jesus and His Word and turn my eyes away from that mountain!    “Let us also lay aside every weight, …let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:1-2)    Jesus is the Word made flesh and all who look to Him see deliverance from oppression of all kinds – mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical. But you must pay attention to where you are looking and what you are saying. If the mountain fills your vision and you acknowledge its power with your words, it won’t move. If you choose to apply the words of your mouth and say what Jesus said, “Be removed,” it will obey you. (Mark 11:23-24)    Now, here’s where some people miss it (and miss the blessing of fulfillment), they think the mountain will move immediately or the next day. That would be wonderful and, in my opinion, a manifestation of a gift of the Holy Spirit, but normally there is a time period after applying and continuing to apply the Word before the stones start to fall off that mountain. I’ll conclude with this; when my dad started speaking the Word of healing over his body, he got sick with a cold, but he kept on speaking the Word until the times of illness became further and further apart. We don’t hear it enough and perhaps don’t say it enough to those around us. Thank you! I appreciate you! So often you come to my mind and gratitude wells up within my heart for you, but in the busyness of everyday life, it seems time passes quickly, and I haven’t said it (or written it). So, I want to say it now – I am so grateful for you!

As we approach the mark of beginning for a new year, I am proclaiming: Jesus Is Lord Over 2025! I am proclaiming it for my own life, Capps Ministries, our nation, and FOR YOU. Won’t you join with me in making that proclamation? Our words are powerful in our own lives and corporately they are even more powerful as we join in unity of the Spirit.

The opposite of fear is COURAGE – CONFIDENCE – CALMNESS. My dad often said that the greatest enemy to faith is the lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Fear is also a destroyer, and fear comes from a lack of knowledge.

Turn Your Health Around! Does it sound impossible? Are you facing a negative diagnosis from your doctor? Or even a devastating diagnosis? Maybe your body is the one that is giving you a bad report!?

There has never been a time in my life when I have been so utterly convinced that we as believers in Christ must stand our ground IN PRAYER. Prayer has always been a part of my life, and growing up in church I learned about prayer in Sunday School.

It is amazing to me how often we need to be reminded of the basic principles of prayer. I don’t know about you, but if I don’t review the Word of God over and over on a regular basis then what I have heard tends to slip away.

Wisdom and love. What a combination! I discovered these in my own life when I was beginning to travel and teach the Word in my early twenties. I was influenced by a woman in ministry that I admired, and what stood out in her life were these two characteristics.
