Letters from Annette

I will never forget when the Lord spoke to me very directly many years ago about something that took place in my life. I was frustrated and felt like I had failed. I had failed the Lord and failed to attain the lofty goals I had set for myself. After all, I was born again and Spirit filled.

What would your life look like if you dedicated yourself to discovering what God has said about you in His Word? What image would that paint in your mind? Would you have confidence in your Father to enable you to stand against sickness, stress, financial lack, and mental distress? Let God’s Word create a new image inside of you today!

Every Monday in Capps Chapel, we pray for you and lay hands on your prayer requests as we speak God’s blessing over you. I would say the majority of the requests we receive are for healing of the body.

As I was editing the new devotional, Shaping Tomorrow, I noticed that I had let some things slip. Isn’t it amazing that we can know spiritual truths but then, under pressure, forget to apply them.

Do you know that the LAST THING a person says to you before leaving is very important Think about it. Have you ever left to go on a trip (whether on vacation, a hospital stay, or other reasons) and made arrangements for someone to either house- or pet-sit, or just come over to check on things?

 Have you ever felt a sudden burst of inspiration? Maybe you were touched by a scripture you read or a song that just rose up within you? Flowing in the gifts of the Holy Spirit starts like that.

Every year I am aware that January is a new beginning. Aside from the fact that my birthday is in January (that’s a new year for me), January 1 is a new calendar year of beginnings. Whether you are a “goal-setting” person or not, I would like to encourage you to look at two scriptures in regard to the new year of 2026.

 Have you ever run out of gas? The other day as I was driving down the interstate, I looked down at the gas gauge in my car, and it was on EMPTY! I made it to my appointment on time, but as soon as I departed, the tank was filled full at the nearest gas station. That lesson carries over into the spiritual realm as well. When we get too busy or preoccupied and ignore the basics of life, things quit working.

Have you ever heard anyone declare “The Bible says...” and then quote from some obscure scripture or quote something out of context to prove a point? I remember as a child hearing a church member say, “You know, the Bible says that cleanliness is next to godliness.” I never could find that scripture because it’s not in there!

 A few days ago, I picked up my cell phone from the charger and the battery was almost dead. What a revolting development after charging all night! I immediately thought, “Oh no, my phone is going bad or I will have to have the battery replaced.” As I prayed in the Spirit getting ready for my day, my attention was drawn to the charging wire.

I am excited to share with you this month, a new revelation about the name of Jesus that has impacted my life powerfully. We know about Jesus and if we have accepted Him as Lord, He dwells in us, but do we really have faith in His name? Have we even thought about it that way?

I wrote a letter to you in 2020, and I just reread it. Wow, what an eye opener! Here is the part I want you to see: “As armies of angels are loosed upon the earth to raise up leaders and take down leaders, we must be very mindful to speak only the words of God’s purpose!
