Christmas 2018 - A Letter from Annette

                                                                                                December 2018

Dear Partner,

Every Christmas when I was a child, my Grandmother Capps would gather all of us grandchildren around her as we eagerly anticipated opening our gifts. Barely able to control ourselves, she insisted we listen as she read us the “Christmas Story.” Year after year, until she passed, adults and children waited as she read from Luke chapter 2. I can still hear her words as she began reading…

“And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David).”  Luke 2:1-4

She had little formal education and struggled with pronouncing some of the words as we fidgeted, more interested in gifts than Bible stories. But she made her point, “Kids, Christmas is about Jesus. Always remember that the baby in that manger is the reason we celebrate Christmas.”

That same Jesus was born because God spoke and called it to pass long ago. Many centuries went by before the Word spoken by the prophet came into manifestation.

Many years have passed since I heard the Word read by my grandmother, but the seed of that Word was planted in my heart as a child and God’s Word will not return void. It has borne fruit and will continue to eternally bear fruit.

As you read this month’s teaching, take notice and ask the Holy Spirit to make it real to you. In the same manner in which Mary received and conceived God’s spoken Word, so you can also receive and conceive God’s Word and it will become flesh in your flesh and bone in your bones.

And so also, if you have loved ones that you have spoken the Word to, perhaps children or grandchildren that you read the Bible to; be encouraged and trust God’s Word to bring forth fruit in their lives for salvation and deliverance.

“So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:11 AMPC

May God Bless You and keep you and shine His Light upon you this Christmas.

    God Bless You,

    Annette Capps
