August 2026
Recently, as I was preparing to speak at Capps Chapel, the Holy Spirit prompted me that there was someone listening who had been attacked by a spirit of fear and that I should minister to them. It was a very strong impression, so I asked that person to respond. God wanted them delivered! Fear is not from God! No one responded, so I prayed a general prayer.
Later, I discovered that someone was present who was gripped by fear but did not respond! Fear prevented this person from responding. Has anything like that ever happened to you? I personally have experienced the paralyzing presence of fear, and I am not unique. It happens to many people. Here is what Paul told Timothy:
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and soundness of mind” (2 Timothy 1:7 BLB).
Want to defeat fear and anxiety? Here are 4 steps:
1. Resist fear (James 4:7). The devil is the author of fear.
2. Speak the Word (Luke 4:4). This is how Jesus answered Satan.
3. Refuse images and thoughts that bring or build fear (2 Corinthians 10:4–5).
4. Act on faith (Acts 4:29–31). Replace fear with bold declarations and actions.
Now, I want to give you a declaration of deliverance from fear. Say this out loud with feeling (like you believe it!) and say it as often as needed. You can’t overdose on the Word!
“God has not given me a spirit of fear, but He has given me a spirit of power, a spirit of love, and a sound, undisturbed mind. I cast down reasonings, images, imaginations, and everything that is contrary to God’s Word. Greater is He that is in me than he who is in the world. I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of His Testimony. Therefore, I declare I am free from fear and anxiety. I am bold and confident in God, and His Word prevails in my life!”
Now say “I am free! Hallelujah! Glory to God! HA HA HA HA HA!”
Laugh out loud, for a merry heart does good like a medicine (Proverbs 17:22). Laughter does lots of good for you. It brings lightness of spirit and light in the darkness!
I sincerely hope this helps you today. Please apply God’s Word to whatever circumstance you are facing.
And remember this, you are in my heart, mind, and prayers.
God Bless You,
Annette Capps
